CHILDREN'S CHURCH AND MORE

Who? . . . Children’s Church is offered each Sunday morning for children in the 1st through 6th grades. Children sit with their parent(s) until the conclusion of the music and/or drama. (You’ll find the designated time marked in each Sunday’s hand out and on the front screen.) At that time, they will follow the leader to the children’s area.

Content . . . Children will be learning lessons from the Bible. They will discover how to face temptation, serve Jesus, forgive others, pray, trust in God, and much, much more! By the end of their 6 year journey, they will have studied at least one lesson from every book in the Bible.

Format . . . Lessons are taught through reading, drama, games, stories, puzzles, songs, puppets, crafts, etc. The children have fun, yet learn while doing so.

Reinforcing the lessons . . . Some weeks kids will receive FUNSHEETS to take home and work on. These handouts are related directly to the lesson taught that day and will help them remember how to apply the new Bible knowledge.

Incentives . . . Every child who comes to Children’s Church has the opportunity to earn stickers by Bringing a Bible, Bringing a Friend, and/or Completing the FUNSHEET. Each sticker is worth 5 points. The children keep up with their own cards with their stickers attached. Approximately each 13 weeks (once a quarter), the children will be able to exchange their points for small prizes.

Teachers . . . Our teachers love working with the children.  Each week they are excited to teach them about God, the Bible, and God's plans for their lives.  Two volunteers lead the children on Sunday's according to a rotating schedule.

Other Children's Activities . . . The children have opportunities to participate in fun family events each month. Quarterly activities are offered for just the 1st-6th grade children to participate in such as swimming, bowling, pottery, and a yearly Christmas party.  Plus, the children participate a few times each year during the regular church service with singing and/or drama.  Also, special celebrations are presented for the children each year such as a puppet presentation and Easter Treasure Hunt.

Questions? . . . We want Children’s Church to be a great experience where kids can grow in their relationship to God. So, any questions as well as new ideas are welcome. If you have any questions, comments, or would like to help in any way please let us know on your Communication Card on Sunday or email her at:
